Didn't take long to do this tank top I guess that's probably why I like making my little girls things because it don't take up that much time.

After finishing this I decided to do her a little skirt to go with the tank top so now getting started on that. :)

Thanks for looking :) take care Crochet Chicks :)

Here is my god sons' B-day outfit

Here is the outfit I made for my godson to wear on our b-day. Yep OUR b-day he will be 3 and I'll be a year older then I am now lol. The tube top pattern is from Christina also known as Shaelynnsmom on Crochetville. The top is a tube top with straps but I did two rows of dc's in between them. Even though I only did the dc part it is still Christinas' pattern so I have to give her credit. The shorts I got from a lady named Michelle and on Crochetville her name is grammy2twins. The pattern is called Pretty Little Girl's Shorts but I didn't add the ruffles on the legs or waist since these are for a boy. The yarn is by TLC Essentials called Surf n' Turf. It is so soft and it has a shine to it. I will post action shots after our b-day.

Newbie Freshness!

Hey all! Just got my invite, so trucked on over here to say hello!

I'm Jess, from Lancaster, PA.

I've been crocheting since I was about 5 - was taught collectively by my Nanny, Aunt and Mom...and re-learned on my own in my late teens - being left handed always confused me when people tried to teach me. It's much more difficult than saying, "Just sit infront of me, looking at me, and mimick what I do."

So, here I am!!

I JUST started organiziing a local chapter of AseraCaring Threads - we make items for hospice patients - so that's taking up most of my crocheting time.

I AM currently, though, working on an item for myself, a gian granny square blanket. I'm enjoying going back to less complicated crochet items - and this fits the bill.

So - just glad to be here, looking forward to my stay!!!!

WIP (Daughters Donated Square Blanket)

Well for those that don't know a couple of wonderful women on Crochetville donated some squares to make my daughter Nesa a nice blanket. Due to her waiting a new liver I want her to have a nice comfortable blanket for her doing that time. So far I got 25% of it done.

I have a couple of the squares weave together and so far a couple of rows sewn together. Here is a update below.:)

Thanks Ville women you all are so wonderful :)

Lucys' 4th of July outfit

Here is the outfit I made for Lucy on the 4th of July. It was a big hit at my family reunion. The halter is a pattern from Christinas' site called the 'Laced Up Halter'. The short's were a pattern from a woman named Grammy2twins and her blog is called 'Momma Wear' the skirt is the same stitches as the halter so none of this was my own design.
Here's a pic showing the shorts underneath. I had to undo them and use Caron Simply Soft b/c the Red Heart made the shorts bulky.
Here's the little Ham in her outfit she loves taking pictures lol.
Here is the back of it.
Of course she wanted me to take a pic of her drinking her first ever soda b/c I normally don't let her have them but I made an exception that day lol.

Sorry!

Sorry that I haven't posted on here yet girls, seems like I've been busy or miserable lately. (I suffer from regular migraines) But thank-you for all the kind comments on my blog! I don't have much time here so won't post any pictures, you can look on my blog to see some things I have made. I am a SAHM with 3 kids, Noelle 5, Jacob 4 in a week, and Elisa 7 months. I have been crocheting since I was a little girl, but mostly had done doilies and a couple of baby blankets. I started crocheting a lot more when I realized that I could while breastfeeding and then started designing my own patterns. I would like to eventually sell my own crochet patterns. I'm thinking of selling some things on Etsy right now just to get some cash to buy yarn. I am (with my husband's blessing) spending a lot of time crocheting so that I can get some things done and I plan to start writing patterns when I have 5 or 6 things that I want to write up. I'm hoping some of you might like to do pattern testing someday? I enjoy looking at all the stuff you guys have done, you're a very talented bunch!

hello ladies... just thought i'd come share some of my WIPs with you. i haven't finished anything in a while it seems... this is crossposted to my blog, where i have a few of my FOs posted if you want to see. ^_^

pattern: long open shawl
so, how's it going?: i already like this better than that monstrous sweater i had made from this yarn before. which is a good thing, since it was $40 of yarn that i wasn't going to use in sweater form. i found out what sort of yarn it is, feza baby in brown. it's 100% acrylic and it is the softest acrylic yarn i've ever worked with. it's really lightweight and drapes nicely. it splits a lot though, which is annoying. i love the stitch pattern for this shawl... if i'm not sick of doing it by the time i finish maybe i'll make another. haven't decided whether or not to include the fringe yet... what do you think?

pattern: my own, making it up as i go
so, how's it going?: so this is my first real attempt at patternless amigurumi... or any amigurumi, really. eventually, i'd like it to look something like this:
blooper from the mario games. what a cute little cephalopod. ^_^ anyway, i'm not sure how it's going so far... making the tentacles is boring so i've made only 4, and i'm not totally happy with how the top part is turning out so far. it's not supposed to be round, it's more of an oval shape, so it's giving me some difficulty. and it's so boring to do only single crochets all the time... i think amigurumi might not be my thing.

Skull purse for my weeeeeeee daughter

I love all of your stuff gals :) Wish I could be as good as you all.

Your can see my stuff on my blog..just clic on my name below»»»»»
Here is my latest creation, nothing to complicated, no pattern to follow..I'm still practicing, learning new stitch and stuff. The embroidery design comes from this site : http://www.sewforum.com/ when you register you can access all kinds of free embroidery designs and is a forum so you can share your projects and experiences. You do need a machine for the embroidery designs, mine is a Brother PE-150. (Still learning that too....I'm very new to the handmade things..sewing crochet, knit, crafts, etc.)

I made a purse for myself not so long ago (you can see it on my blog) and had to make one for my daughter. I know the front pocket is not centered, but she doesn't care. I love anything with skulls (not scary ones only cute ones) or ladybugs.

Also, I saw this "Spider Round Ripple" on Crochetville and would like to do it for my boys and nephew for Christmas...they all love Spiderman...
Do any of you lovely ladies know how long this project is?---How long If I don't neglect my kids and my house that is!! --- And can a newbie crocheter can manage this project?
Here is the link to see the "Spider Round Ripple" : http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53785
And just a quick question, do any of you know how to hyperlink a word?....I hate that you see all of the link, some can be very long and they mess up our blogs!

Selling & promoting your work

Everyone is making such awesome things! When ready to start selling your work, and reaching a bigger audience than our blogs can... ETSY.com is great. I'm really excited by how well it's going for me.

I like it SO much better than Ebay (Where so few people appreciate what we do.) and having a shop is FREE and posting each item is MUCH cheaper than Ebay too. Just this past Friday & Today I've sent out 6 packages!

Fat Bottom Bag

Hello everyone! I'm real glad to be here. Even though I first learnt how to crochet many years ago by making endless chains, I only started working on a real project this year when I picked it up again. So far, I've only made the fat bottom bag. I haven't started on any new crochet projects yet as I'm still waiting for my Knit Picks order to arrive. Can't wait to start on other Happy Hooker projects.

Hi Everyone *waves to everyone*

Hi my name is Aelita and so far I've crocheted a little bit of everything, I love to make things for my godaughters and baby things here is some of the things I've done so far:

Hi Everyone! Amigurumi Madness!

Hi everyone! I'm Trin, and I make amigurumi! Most of which I sell on Etsy http://www.trinlayk.etsy.com

What I don't put up for sale ends up as gifts for friends and family.
I also knit and make hats and scarves and ponchos etc.

My kitties, Megumi & Seimei help me with everything (running away with the skein I'm working with, or curled on my lap while I work.) ... and my daughter (age 20) is one of my biggest fans.
Trin

Jimi Hendrix

My son Cory asked me to do this for him and the little nerd doesn't like it!! The colors were supposed to be a pea green and white, and I just could not see doing it in those colors and he is upset with me over it, so it's just laying in my stash now without a real home. Poor, poor Jimi!! Don't you guys think the colors are better, or is it just me??? Oh, and the foot. Thats Joshua's. My 19 year old. I was trying to take pictures of the ghan and he would not keep his foot out of the way, I tried threatening, bribing, you name it. 10 pictures and all with a big, size 11 1/2 foot stuck in them. Hello Ladies,

I'm Megan. A 21 year old wife and mother. My 2 year old is a self proclaimed yarn helper. She tries her best to mess up mom's yarn balls as fast as she can! My husband tries hard to understand my addiction, and for some reason has let me open my own retail store. I get to sell yarns and crochet ALL DAY LONG! An even bigger bonus is that I get to buy all my yarn at cheaper prices! I'm trying to get my website up and off the ground, and hopefully pull in some sales there. I've started offering a few deals to some of the groups that I frequent online. Feel free to email me to find out more. I think all hookers should be able to get their yarns and supplies at good and sensible prices. Not the over inflated prices that the big companies try to charge.

You can see some if my finished projects on my website. I won't take up the room on here. I'm almost finished with a granny square baby blanket that I will be sure to post here right away!

Happy Hooks, Megan

Here's Elvis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, here is Elvis in the making............row 99 of 188!! He's looking good. I guess the old saying "Elvis has left the building" doesn't hold true for this household!! Later Kiddo's, Mary
